Crypto Advocates and The Chainsmokers Unite for Washington D.C. Rally: ‘Stand with Crypto Day’ to Cap Off Nationwide Tou

Event to Highlight Crypto's Growing Influence in U.S. Politics, Rally Voters, and Feature High-Profile Support from Artists and Industry Leaders

The U.S. crypto advocacy group is set to host its second "Stand with Crypto Day" on September 18, 2024, in Washington D.C., featuring a performance by The Chainsmokers. The event aims to unite crypto advocates, rallying them to address key regulatory issues that impact the industry. This rally marks the culmination of the “America Loves Crypto Tour,” which will have visited several swing states in the lead-up to the D.C. event.

America Loves Crypto Tour: A Nationwide Initiative

The "America Loves Crypto Tour" is a bus tour designed to raise awareness about crypto regulations and voter engagement. It will make stops in five crucial swing states, including Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. As the last leg of the tour, "Stand with Crypto Day" will serve as a rallying point for crypto enthusiasts and industry leaders to make their voices heard in the U.S. capital.

Crypto Voters: A Key Election Issue

With cryptocurrency emerging as a significant election topic, the event organizers aim to rally and register crypto owners to vote. "We know that crypto voters can make the difference in battleground states up and down the ballot this cycle," said Sabrina Siddiqui, spokesperson for the Stand with Crypto campaign. The advocacy group is focused on influencing lawmakers and ensuring that crypto policies are well-represented in this election season.

Crypto's Intersection with the Creative World

Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal highlighted how the event reflects a larger connection between crypto, technology, and the creative industries. Artists and creators, like The Chainsmokers, are increasingly finding opportunities to utilize blockchain technologies to share their work with fans, fueling the push for crypto-friendly policies.

The Chainsmokers, who have previously invested in crypto ventures like CreatorDAO and Royal, will take the stage in Washington D.C. to show their support for the crypto community. This partnership with artists shows a broader movement of integrating digital assets into various sectors, including the music industry.

Political Alliances and Crypto Regulation

Cryptocurrency has become a point of contention in U.S. politics, with significant figures in both major political parties weighing in. Former President Donald Trump has garnered attention for his promises to stop the "unlawful and un-American crackdown" on the crypto industry. Trump's campaign has also benefited from the support of prominent figures in the crypto world, such as Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.

On the other side, Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris has begun outreach efforts to the crypto industry. High-profile executives, including Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen and LinkedIn CEO Reid Hoffman, have endorsed Harris in her campaign. Ripple has also contributed to pro-crypto super PACs in an attempt to influence the upcoming election and ensure favorable policies for digital asset businesses.

The upcoming "Stand with Crypto Day" and its accompanying tour emphasize the increasing political influence of cryptocurrency in the U.S. With growing support from both artists and politicians, the event aims to raise awareness about crypto regulations and voter engagement. As the 2024 election cycle heats up, the crypto community is positioning itself as a powerful force in shaping the future of digital assets in the country.
